We invite Christians of all faiths as we gather together to show our faith in a higher power than ourselves. We invite all faiths to gather and run or walk together. The Faith Run will feature great Christian music, family fun and excercise! There will be a full 5k run/walk as well as a 1k tour of Parker Square for those that want to enjoy the festivities without all the excercise. Also this year we honor Mom on this Mother's Day weekend. Afterwards stay around for live Christian music, play areas and great fellowship!

The Pastor's Challenge:
Get your pastor involved. This includes youth and supporting pastors. Come cheer them on! On our entry forms there is a place where they can enter in the pastor category. We will have fast pastor awards for the top five finishers in the following categories: Male Pastor 40+ - Female Pastor 40+ - Male Pastor 40 and under - Female pastor 40 and under.

5K Mother and Child Teams:
In celebration of Mother's Day and to honor Mom, we give the chance for mom to team up with their child. Team times will be based on the combined times of Mom & Child. We will have awards for the top three Mom and Male Child teams and top three Mom and Female Child teams in each age group. The age groups based on the child's age are: 0-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-17, 18-25, and 26+.
Here are our 5k-team rules:
Anyone that is entered as a team will not be eligible for individual awards. This means if either Mom or child thinks they will win age group awards don't enter as a team. Your team age group will be determined by the age and sex of the child. So if Mom is 80 and child is a 50-year-old man then they are going to be in the male 26+ group. Both Mom and child must run the 5k to be a team. A child in a stroller does not count. Sorry Mom if you have more than one child and you want to be in the team ompetition, you have to pick one or all of you just compete in the regular 5k

Group sign up for church and organization groups:
If your church or organization wants to participate as group you can enter that way. Rather than filling out numerous entry forms, we have one where all can sign up on one form. It is always more fun to bring your church group with you. Click Here for the form (this form requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view) We must receive this form by May 1, 2009.

We will have group awards in the following categories: Largest group - Most Enthusiastic - Best group colors.

Course:
Our 5k course will use many of the beautiful walking paths about Parker Square. Course Description

Benefiting: The Gleaning Network of Texas
We are excited to support the efforts of The Gleaning Network of Texas at The Faith Run. Gleaning is the Biblical practice of hand-gathering crops left in the fields after harvest. The Gleaning Network of Texas coordinates volunteers, growers, and distribution agencies to provide food for hungry people through gleaning. The salvaged produce is taken to local food distribution centers. Each year many volunteers participate in gleaning events for The Gleaning Network. Proceeds and sponsorships from The Faith Run will assist The Gleaning Network in their efforts to help feed the hungry in the North Texas area.
